8th quarter review

So this is what I showed for my "10th" quarter review...Nothing special really but I passed. Two more quarters left ( a little less than 6 months), and I'm taking portfolio prep next quarter. I have a lot to do but I'm super excited.

colors are very hard to work with...this is what I got and I'm finally liking it- feedback will be appreciated.

I wasn't convinced and kept changing the colors. It was difficult to finally find something that worked. I figured-"if it looks good without the inking, I got it"...this looks good to me, but I need the feedback to be 100% sure.

So I'm almost finished with the project...wow- I've learned quite a few things since starting this...here are some 80% finished pics of what I've done. The other ones aren't quite as finished but there not far behind. Thanks to Ricardo for trusting me with making his truck look good. I hope he's satisfied with the finished work...Can't wait to see it on the truck!

Wow Ive been quite busy this quarter but it's ok. Strangely enough I've had a few "jobs" outside of school and work that have been keeping me busier than what I'm used to. It's exciting and a challenge as well. Yesterday after a few concept sketches I decided to pay TED.com a visit and watched a couple of videos. The video I watched happened to be particularly long and was recorded mid 2008; however, the speaker, Randy Pausch, is quite engaging. Its titled- "really achieving your childhood dreams'' . If you have an hour and 20 minutes to spare you might find the video as inspiring as I have.

Its been a little bit since my last post; I suppose you can say I've been between projects. The New Years card by the way was a success; since then I've done a couple of favors for my girlfriends co-workers at the salon, one of which includes designing the logo for a catering company called Slidin' Thru'.

You should definitely check out the webpage, the food looks delicious. Out of coincidence, the business belongs to an awesome guy named Ricardo Guerrero, who happened to graduate from the Art Institute of Las Vegas' International Culinary School (Im majoring in Media Arts/Animation at the Art Institute). He wanted to base the design off of the one that is currently on the website and a mighty mouse pose he liked. This is what I came up with---

Besides this- I have a short to finish and a second to begin. In the meanwhile- here are a couple of drawing I did for last quarters sketchbook contest that I didn't finish. This quarter will be a different story.

wow this took wayyy too long to complete. Its suppose to be a New Years Card for my girlfriends co-workers/friends based off of an idea they developed for a salon of the year competition they had in Vegas 09....I took too many hours on this and im convinced that there HAS to be a faster way to get this done.... anyway, Im not too fond of my coulour choices but I thought Id share this for now. Happy New Year to anyone who happens to come across this blog. Im looking forward to it.
